Product Description
Megatro 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower
megatro 345KV single circuit tower raise
MEGATRO successfully completed the first energized mid-tower lift on a 345KV single circuit transmission line - the first in the country.
MEGATRO 345KV SINGLE CIRCUIT TOWER RAISE was the first of many mid-tower lifts scheduled for this utility. No outages are required for this work!
The operation does not require an outage, cranes or matting, which gives opportunity to upgrade capacity on lines without having to secure an outage from a nuclear power station.
Our most difficult tower to raise to date, mid-body from a taper to a taper section of the structure.
MEGATRO's initial design was a double-circuit 345-kV 3-bundle tubular steel monopole structure. MEGATRO's ability to deliver more transmission capability over distance, provide aesthetic advantages and fit more easily into tight right-of-ways led AEP to introduce MEGATRO for the first time in an existing 138-kV corridor with a tower-for-tower line rebuild project. With the need to maintain a 138-kVcircuit while adding a new, high-capacity 345-kV circuit in the same corridor, MEGATRO satisfied the system reliability needs while receiving positive feedback from the community.
The engineering team at AEP saw additional opportunities after the initial design and have expanded the MEGATRO 345-kV product suite to include lattice towers, single-circuit designs and multiple conductor bundle options.
At a time when both the expectations of the industry and those of the public are changing, modernizing the electric grid is a significant challenge. Today, more than ever before, the grid needs to be dynamic and adaptable. A changing generation portfolio and increasingly engaged landowners and siting boards are challenging transmission developers and the system as never before. To address these changing expectations, AEP engineers designed an innovative solution - a new concept line design delivering more capacity and efficiency in a compact, aesthetic form.
MEGATRO provide 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower for overseas clients. This overhead power line is a structure used in electric power transmission and distribution to transmit electrical energy along large distances. It consists of one or more conductor (most often three or four) suspended by towers or utility poles. Since most of the insulations is provided by air, overhead power lines are generally the lowest-cost method of power transmission for large quantities of electric energy.
Towers for support of the lines are made of wood (as-grown or laminated), steel (either lattice structures or tubular poles), concrete, aluminum, and occasionally reinforced plastics. MEGATRO mainly produce, design and install galvanized steel tower, and provide service on site for 345KV overhead transmission line.
345KV power transmission line belongs to high voltage grade, used for sub-transmission and transmission of bulk quantities of electric power and connection to very large consumers. Our 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower including many types, such as lattice angular tower, tubular tower, monopole, or guyed towers and mast.
MEGATRO is one of the few manufactures who assemble a face of 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower. This attention to quality may not be the cheapest process but it does insure every tower meets our high standards of quality. And it helps to reduce on-site construction cost due to mismatched assemblies.
After fabrication all 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower are delivered to the galvanizing facility to be Hot DIP Galvanized. Towers are processed through the facility by Caustic Cleaning, Pickling, and then Fluxing. These strict procedures insure years of maintenance free towers.
MEGATRO 345KV overhead transmission line steel tower systems can accommodate a variety of cross-arm. MEGATRO also offers a wide variety of accessories and mounts.
