Megatro Triangular Lattice Trailer Mast

At Site One we can provide a trailer mast to suit any (reasonable) requirement. We have a wide range of standard designs but we also provide a service to design and manufacture a trailer mast to your specification.
Trailer Mast Rental
We have a number of 24m and 30m units available for rental on a daily, weekly or longer basis. Our rates are very competitive so please contact us for further details.

Telescopic triangular lattice masts

For permanent or semi-permanent installations where a cost-effective telescopic unit up to 30m in height is required. We can provide a suitable foundation and install on your site if required. The masts are formed from 6m long, fully welded, steel triangular lattice sections all hot dip galvanised. They can be supplied in two forms, either fixed vertical or tilt to horizontal when retracted. Telescoping is achieved by mechanical means using a winch operating via steel wire rope and pulleys so is very rugged and reliable. Winches are manual as standard but electric winches are an option.

Triangular Lattice Trailer Mast
Available in heights up to 30m, this unit is highly versatile being suitable for a variety of applications such as providing temporary wireless communications, amateur radio and wind monitoring.
The standard unit is a single axle braked trailer with four adjustable jacks to allow the trailer to be levelled. The triangular lattice mast is made up of fully welded 6m long steel lattice sections mounted on a post, giving a 'tilt and telescope' mast. Available as 2, 3, 4 or 5 section masts providing, with the standard extension pole, heights up to 30m.All up weight is less than 1500kg so towable by a large car, medium size van or 4×4.
Where stability of the mast top is critical or with high headloads we recommend guying the mast. We can supply a guy set to match all of the units we supply.
All trailer masts are supplied as standard with:
  • Fully hot dip galvanised trailer and mast
  • Four levelling jacks, three on telescopic outriggers
  • Front mast support post adjustable in height to facilitate rigging the mast from the ground
  • Manual winches for tilt and telescope
  • 50mm ball coupling and 7-pin plug
  • Full lighting set
  • Licence plate holder
  • Overrun brakes with auto-reverse and handbrake
  • Adjustable jockey wheel
Options are:
  • Electric winches
  • Pannier boxes
  • Alternative couplings e.g. NATO type
  • Rough terrain suspension
  • Cabinets
  • Generator
  • Twin lighting plugs, 13-pin plug or custom wiring

MEGATRO triangular lattice trailer masts are low cost solutions for mounting antennas at a height for telecommunication and broadcasting.
MEGATRO Guyed Mast Telecom Tower are designed and developed to receives assistance from guy lines. These are especially used in telecom tower in form of either supporting aerials at the top or by using the whole structure as an antenna. For all types of wires aerials including VLF, MF, LF and others, these masts are perfect. For wires aerials, these mast structures require to be installed against ground.
Guyed Masts are low cost solutions for mounting antennas at a height. But the disadvantage with guyed masts are the space required is very high. The sway of the antenna is high.
Some telecom guyed tower & mast are towers that have guy wires, which are tensioned cables used to stabilize the tower. While one end of the cables is attached to the top of the structure, the other end is tied to the base of the structure. Since these guy wires are tensioned and spread around the base of the main structure itself, guyed towers have special requirements for their construction.

MEGATRO guyed tower &mast also fabricated by solid steel pipe or angel steel, after fabrication all towers are delivered to the galvanizing facility to be Hot Dip Galvanized. Towers are processed through the facility by Caustic Cleaning, Pickling, and then Fluxing. These strict procedures insure years of maintenance free towers.

MEGATRO TOWERS will guarantee the overall safety of the tower. MEGATRO TOWERS will submit design calculation report for member design of tower and overall structural stability of the structure, which is signed by a charted structural Engineer.
    1. MEGATRO will supply the skeleton to scale, showing the assembly of the structures, the antenna mounting levels, other detail drawings etc.
    2. The calculation method to be adopted for tower design will be decided by MEGATRO TOWERS with the consent of the client.
    3. All materials will comply with British Standard (hereinafter called BS), Japanese Industrial Standard (hereinafter called JIS) or equivalent standards. The permissible stress of the materials will comply with BS, standard by Architectural Institute of Japan (hereinafter call AIJ) or equivalent. The standards adopted for all materials will be stated separately.

  • General Design Criteria
    1. Mast will be designed based on GB, BS 8100, TIA/EIA-222-G-2006, IS 802 & IS875 or equivalent international standards.
    2. The wind loading on the tower and antennas mounted on it will withstand a ground level wind velocity of 140 Km/h and survival speed of 180 Km/h including with height in accordance with latest BSI CP3: Chapter V: Part 2: British Standard (BS)
    3. Antenna that will be considered when it calculates wind areas will be Six GSM antennas, Two each 600 mm diameter microwave dishes & one 1.2m Ø Microwave plus all the feeders for GSM and MW antennas.
    4. Allowance will be given to the effective windage area of the following:
      1. Feeder runway
      2. Feeders
      3. Platforms and guard rails
      4. Ladder and ladder guards
MEGATRO submit the complete data showing the drag factor from various angles of wind on the antenna offered.
